Screenshots made for AI chats: capture, mark what matters, drag it straight in.
More about Tempo
Tempo is a screenshot tool built for one workflow: capture your screen, point out what matters and drag the image straight into ChatGPT, Claude or any app that accepts images — without saving files by hand or hunting for them afterwards.
There's an error on screen and you want someone to look at it. You take the shot, hunt down the file, drag it over, then write three more lines pointing at the bit that matters. Five times a day, and you end up with a pile of images you can no longer tell apart. Tempo leaves the capture floating over your work: add an arrow, blur what shouldn't leave the room, drag it into the chat.
A look inside
What it does
Capture from anywhere
Grab a region with ⌥⇧⌘S or the whole screen, from any app, with global shortcuts.
A thumbnail that waits for you
Your capture appears as a small floating thumbnail that stays on top without stealing focus. Drag it anywhere, or paste it with ⌘V.
Annotate in seconds
Arrows, rectangles, ellipses, text, pencil, blur and numbered markers to show exactly what you mean.
Several captures at once
Keep several captures open in the same window, jump between them from the side strip, and copy them all as a single image — perfect for giving an AI the full context.
Recent history
Recent captures are kept in a history on your Mac, so you can reopen one you already closed.
No account, no cloud
Tempo doesn't connect to any AI service. The image goes wherever you drop it, and nowhere else.
Keyboard shortcuts
Capture a region
Capture the whole screen
They work from any app, and you can change them in Settings.
Permissions
macOS asks for Screen Recording permission the first time. Tempo needs it to capture your screen; captures stay on your Mac.
Privacy
Captures, annotations and history are stored only on your Mac. Tempo never uploads them. Privacy Policy →
Questions
What does it cost, and what's included?
US$9.99, paid once and yours for good. There's no subscription. Every update within the major version you buy is included, so all 1.x releases if you buy 1.0. Want all four apps? The bundle is US$19.99 instead of US$33.96 bought one by one.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 14 days of buying, for any reason at all. Email support@tintolabs.com from the address you bought with and we'll sort it out within 2 business days. Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record, puts the money back on the card you paid with.
How does the free trial work?
Download Tempo and open it. The 14-day trial starts on its own, with nothing held back. No card, no account, no email address. You'll need macOS 14 Sonoma or later. When the trial runs out, the app asks for a licence key: paste the one from your order email and pick up where you left off.
How many Macs can I use it on?
Up to three Macs you own or work on, all with the same key. Moving the licence to a new Mac? Deactivate it in the app's settings on the old one first. Lost the key? It's in your order email, and in your account at app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders.
Does Tempo use AI?
No. Tempo prepares the image; you choose where to drop it — ChatGPT, Claude, Slack, Mail or any app that accepts images.
Where are my captures saved?
Wherever you drag or save them. Every capture is also copied to the clipboard so you can paste it straight away, and Tempo keeps a local history on your Mac that you can turn off.
